Shalaka Phadnis
Litigation Staff Attorney
Shalaka is the Litigation Staff Attorney at AAJC, where she works to advocate for immigrants’ and voting rights. She brings experience representing asylum seekers in Immigration Courts all over the US, and litigating their appeals through the Federal Circuit Courts, including preparing for oral argument. Prior to that, Shalaka was a Law Clerk at Asian Americans Advancing Justice Southern California and an intern for the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Namibia. Shalaka holds two law degrees: a First Class LL.B from the University of Oxford, and an LL.M in International and Comparative Law from UCLA.
