On January 20, 2025, Donald J. Trump was sworn in for a second term as President of the United States. The divisive rhetoric and policies of his campaign, coupled with the lingering effects of his previous administration, underscore the urgency of our mission. We will continue our relentless efforts to protect immigrant rights, combat voter suppression, and confront hate and discrimination in all its forms and remain resolute in our commitment to supporting Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities.
Our communities have displayed extraordinary resilience and determination. Through collective action, we organized, mobilized, and participated in record numbers to ensure AANHPI voices were heard and represented in the November 2024 general election.
While Election Day is behind us, our work is far from over. The need to advocate for the rights, dignity, and representation of AANHPIs is more pressing than ever. With this new administration, Asian Americans Advancing Justice will:
- Fight for a society that is respectful, inclusive, and equitable for all communities of color.
- Demand lawmakers advance humane immigration policies, expand Asian language access, and eliminate hate and bigotry.
- Advance and defend the human rights and civil liberties of AANHPIs, immigrants, women, AMEMSA communities, LGBTQIA+ communities, people with disabilities, and all communities of color.
Although the road ahead may be challenging, we remain inspired and energized by the resilience and activism demonstrated by our communities. Together, we will continue to fight for justice, equity, and inclusion for all.
