On November 2, 2026, 157 national, state, and local organizations serving Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities submitted joint public comments opposing proposed changes to the 2030 Census. Representing 34 states and the District of Columbia, the organizations warn that excluding certain noncitizens and restricting demographic questions would undermine census accuracy, political representation, and access to essential resources.
