Marsden, who died in 2012, took portraits of 50 women honored by the Ann Bancroft Foundation as part of its DreamMaker Awards, which are meant to further the work of the polar explorer for whom the foundation is named. The exhibit features portraits Marsden took of the women who received DreamMaker Awards between 1997 and 2010.
Acknowledging those who champion women’s and girls’ causes, the awards have been given to (and Marsden portraits have been made of) U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, activist/environmentalist Winona LaDuke, Dr. Verna Price, Hmong community leader Mee Moua and many others.
